Pergola at Bay Street

Just before the turn of the Century, the "Cove" Sailors of the Volunteer Boat Club and the "Harbor" Yachtsmen, joined forces to form the Sag Harbor Yacht Club. Making a home at the foot of the North Haven Bridge initially, the Club grew rapidly and in 1914 moved to its present site at the East End of the harbor - inside the Breakwater. Rather than build a new Clubhouse, the Club purchased the building which had been serving as the New York Yacht Club Station #5 on Shelter Island. After four wars, six hurricanes, and 33 commodores, the Old Clubhouse looks better than ever today and our professional staff provides first class service to members, guests, and visiting yachtsmen in a friendly, small town manner.
